Soroptimist International has almost 80,000 like-minded women working on projects that help improve the lives of women and girls locally, nationally and internationally.
Members of Bridgend Soroptimists are “Women inspiring action, transforming lives”. As well as raising awareness of local, national and international issues, we also support local charities. Meetings are held twice a month to meet like-minded women, have fun and discuss and plan our charitable projects. If you want to help create a better world for women and girls and to make a real difference in your community, get in touch with us at Bridgend Soroptimists.
Our current focus is Mental Health Awareness and Well-being – something that is so important during this pandemic. And it’s not just about the well-being of others, but also self-care and looking after ourselves – after all, we need to take care of ourselves so that we can help others.
For many of us, our doggy friends are just what we need to get us through these unsettling times. They are company and someone to share our isolation with. A quiet walk helps the troubles of the day slip away – often leading to spontaneous interactions with other dog-walkers (at a distance, of course). And a game of tug or cuddle on the sofa always lifts the spirits.
